Slovakia is said to be beautiful, rich in everything what can attract the eye of a tourist. Our country offers lots of attractions that are worth seeing such as majestic mountains, charming castles and unspoiled nature. Within several hours a visitor coming to Slovakia can visit a huge amount of places of interest. Slovakia is a landlocked country situated in the heart of Europe and also called „Little Big Country“. It’s a country of high rocks, deep valleys, forests, a country of lakes and rivers. The largest and deepest lake is Veľké Hincovo pleso in the High Tatras and the biggest river is Danube. The fauna and flora here are also plentiful and precious. Its capital – Bratislava also called „Beauty on the Danube“ is a city full of history. Our country is rich in mountainous areas – the world famous The High Tatras offer many possibilities of skiing and mountain walking and climbing. Each season of the year gives an individual charm to all high mountains. There is always something to admire: wild torrents, swift currents of the rivers, strange rocky formations and stone seas. There are also hundreds of caves in Slovakia and visitors have access to some of them. The most famous caves are: Ochtinska aragonit cave, Belianska, Demänovská, Dobšinská cave. Slovakia alo offers its visitors possibilities for relaxation near the water. Zemplínska Šírava is the largest centre of summer recreation. Slovakia is also known by its spas. All in all, Slovakia is a country of attractive natural beauty, rare cultural and historical monuments, architecture and folk culture.
